Life, Work

Confession: I hate washing silverware.

So, I have so much to update you all on. Well, not really. Work is fun. Life is ridiculously busy. My race is coming. I’m tired. I’m not blogging as much as I want. I’m hating being away from Adam (especially at lunch) while I’m at work. Blah. Yeah, that’s it.

Well, that might have been the puke version of my life at this moment, and if I wasn’t a writer, that might have sufficed as a blog post for the night. However, that, of course, is not me. 🙂

I just got the book Deceptively Delicious from PaperbackSwap!  I’m so excited! It offers a wonderful array of “healthified” recipes – from macaroni and cheese (with hidden butternut squash or cauliflower) to burgers with finely chopped mushrooms and grated zucchini and pancakes with pureed sweet potato.  How cool! I’m so excited to try some new, “deceptively delicious” recipes!  Shhh…. don’t tell Adam. 😉

Adam is a wonderful man. Yes, I know you all know that, but I am so thankful for him and his patience as I adjust to a new schedule. Working from 6-2 (or in this week’s case, from 7-3) throws off all my earlier plans for my cleaning schedule, dinner menu planning, etc. Things are a lot harder to accomplish for dinner prep when I’m due in at work at 6am, and I’m learning to adjust to wanting to be off my feet when I get home from 8 straight hours on my feet. It’s a learning experience.  However, through all of this, he’s been such a sport, and I’m proud to say, he’s eaten normal food for all the lunches but the first day I was gone, when he simply made mozzarella sticks and ate spice cake.

I’m getting more proactive with his lunches despite my absence (which stinks!!! 😦 ). Currently, I’m cooking up some very-marinated pork chops, which I’ll practically shave for some thin pork slices and set aside in case Adam wants a barbecue pork sandwich tomorrow. Of course, I make our dinner a little larger than needed, so he can always have leftovers….

Well, I SO want to stay and update you more. I’ll try to write more tomorrow…. I’m due into work in less than 8 hrs.

‘Night, World!

P.S. Adam made a comment today about my washing habits, and yes, I hate washing silverware. What about you?

  1. I hate washing cookie trays because my sink isn’t big enough and water always spills out since I have to wash half the tray at a time lol
