Working full-time means I have less to bake for fun. I still do bake, but the other day, after a long day, I decided to make some brownies from a new company I’m interacting with. 🙂
Here are my thoughts! 🙂
Allergy-Related Information: Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, Soy-Free, Egg-Free (can be made egg-free or with eggs), Nut-Free
Appearance
Pros: They look like typical brownies to me! 🙂
Cons:… except for this fact…. They didn’t rise. 😦 I was really disappointed that these brownies turned out as thin as a cookie.
Taste
Pros: These tasted amazing! I tasted these brownies, and they reminded me of eating chewy hot cocoa! (Is that possible?? lol) I really enjoyed the chocolate taste!
Cons: No cons here!
Moisture/Texture
Pros: I really liked the chewy aspect of these brownies. They had a very “not-gluten-free” texture that was a quite pleasant surprise!
Cons: I was a little frustrated with these brownies, because they took way longer to cook than the box called for. I cooked my brownies in a glass pan. I was supposed to cook them for 27-30 minutes, but I ended up having to cook them for about 35 minutes. They were raw in the middle until then. Then, when they were finally cooked through in the center, they were a little too hard on the outside–overcooked. It was a hard balance, and next time I might take them out a little gooey. We’ll see.
What I Love
I absolutely loved the flavor of these brownies! They were absolutely wonderful, and they were inhaled within a few days! Easy to make, tasty to eat!
What I’d Improve
I’d definitely work on the texture of this brownie–not because it’s grainy at all (’cause it’s not!)– so that it rises as it should and cooks evenly throughout. Kinda bummed.
