My older sister used to make granola when we were kids. I don’t know what it was that she put in it (perhaps it was the poppy seeds) but I remember hating it. Amazingly, I still love granola… just don’t ask me to try that old recipe again. Something things are best left forgotten.
I was sent some gluten-free granola from Amelia’s, and today, on my relaxing day off, I decided to enjoy it.

Appearance
Pros: Amelia’s does a wonderful job packaging their products. They’re bagged in a small, airtight bag that not only keeps the product fresh but also lists the company information as well as all the ingredients. I was really happy to see all the natural ingredients and to know exactly what I was eating. I love it!
Cons: The package I was sent was only 4 oz. For me, that’s a fine bit of granola, but for a hardworking husband like Adam, that would be a handful snack.
Taste
Pros: I’ve mentioned this earlier here, but I love the natural ingredients of Amelia’s granola! Some of the wonderful tastes include walnuts, dried fruit (golden and dark raisins, cranberries, and dates), pecans, and cinnamon. What a delectable treat!
Cons: I’m not one for super-sweet cereal, and although I was in love with this granolas I was inhaling it (almost literally! lol), I wonder if it’s a little sweet for my liking.
Texture/Moisture
Pros: I am extremely impressed with how this granola has held up to my delayed review. Again, the packaging was great, but the texture and moisture balance was superb as well. I was in love with the variety of textures from the oats to the nuts to the dried fruit! Wonderful!
Cons: No cons here!
What I Love
I love the natural, low-fat ingredients, the professionalism with with Amelia’s packages, and the confidence I have that Amelia’s products are safe for the gluten-free eater(s) in my home.
What I’d Improve
I really can’t say I’d improve much with this except to perhaps lower the sugar-content. Other than that, I found it superb. 🙂
