I have nothing but praise for the Lord today. There is so much on my heart that I want to share.
First of all, last night I didn’t sleep well. My three little kitties took turns waking me up every 2 hours to go outside. Watson has developed this cute but really not-so-cute technique of waking me up, then grabbing onto my hand in an attempt to pull me downstairs to take him outside. He’s such a strange cat, and although the action could be seen as cute when I was fully awake, waking up to claws in my hands isn’t so fun.
This morning at work one of our workers was AWOL. We think she quit, because she’s not returning texts, calls, etc; so, that left me on Wednesday morning, one of the busiest times of the week for me (I have to take inventory, put in an order, receive an order, do financial paperwork, and of course, serve coffee, donuts, and more.) At first I felt like I was going to be overwhelmed. However, the Lord brought Isaiah 40 to me, and I was immediately comforted. My coworkers on the Subway side were amazing and stepped in to help keep me afloat, and every time things got crazy I focused on the promises He offers in that passage of Isaiah:
Do you not know? Have you not heard?
The Everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth
Does not become weary or tired
His understanding is inscrutable.
He gives strength to the weary,
And to him who lacks might He increases power.
Though youths grow weary and tired,
And vigorous young men stumble badly,
Yet those who wait for the LORD
Will gain new strength;
They will mount up with wings like eagles,
They will run and not get tired,
They will walk and not become weary.
It’s amazing how much peace the Truth of the Word offers.
The other thing I’m really excited about is that I got word that we should be moving next week!! EEeeeeekk!! I’m so excited and oh so ready! to move into my big home with a big kitchen, multiple closets, and so many perks! I can’t wait to post pictures!
Lastly, and most-definitely not least, today is day 10 of my 40-day fast! I’m 25% there! I’m so thankful for the Lord’s sustaining grace, His mercy, and His patience! I am thankful that after this short amount of time my system is no longer bleeding (Praise the Lord!!), I’m still functioning/feeling well at work and home, and I’m anticipating to see what the Lord will teach me during the remainder of this journey. Plus, I’m soooo excited to be done with these last 10 days ’cause it means I only have 30 days left!! 🙂
Today’s cravings: bacon and a veggie wrap ….oooh..
