It’s often hard to have a throw-together meal for a gluten-free and/or allergy-free eater. Most of what me make is homemade, so most of it is best fresh, not long-lasting, or frozen in advance. So, unless you’re quick and use a microwave to defrost something, there’s not much in the way of “throw-in-the-oven-from-freezer” meals….or so I thought.
The more I do reviews the more I’ve come to understand that the options are there. You just have to know where to look.

Appearance
Pros: I like that these toquitos look quite appetizing on the outside of the box and when the box is opened, they look just like the product claims. I was asked by the company to review a specific recipe Incredibly Easy Enchiladas, and I have to say all prepared and in my oven baking, I was very pleased with appearance. They looked great!
Cons: No cons here!
Taste
Pros: I like the taste of the sauce mixed for this recipe. Simple enough, a sauce/salsa can make or break a casserole, enchilada, etc. This sauce was made from all-fresh ingredients.
Although I’ll talk for a moment about what I don’t like with these, I have to say I like that these are great re-heatable option. These taquitos hold together and heat up well, and like a lot of meals, are better the second time around!
Cons: Unfortunately, I have to admit that the corn tortillas used in these wraps are far from the best I’ve tasted. They tend to be slightly thick and despite absorbing the sauce, were not flavored well, so I felt disappointed in their rather bland attributes. The filling in these were not bad, but they were definitely in need of more. It was hard to taste, as it was overpowered by the corn tortillas and not seasoned well.
Moisture/Texture
Pros: I mentioned above that I liked that these held together well. I look forward to trying another recipe to see how these toquitos hold up as something other than enchiladas, but over all, I liked their texture.
Cons: I was unsure what to think of the texture of the filling for these. I felt they were not filled enough and the filling was a little too smooth and not “chunky” enough to my taste.
What I Love
It’s hard to find a pre-made gluten-free/allergy-free dish that is good heated up the second time. Even some homemade things are not the best reheated. I love that this company has mastered this problem. Again, I liked them better the second day.
What I’d Improve
I definitely would ask the company to try a new tortilla recipe and season the filling better.
