I don’t mind a good energy bar. I don’t mind a bit of chocolate. However, I want to be healthy, balance my nutrients (carbs, proteins, and fats) throughout the day, eat as naturally as possible, and never, ever be hungry.
The more I understand about food, the more I understand what foods to eat and what to avoid, namely the avoidance of processed food and the choice of natural, real foods. As I’ve come to understand how much of my food is processed, I’ve grown more an more thankful for companies who focus on providing me with great tasting, natural, and allergy-free options.

Appearance
Pros: I love when labels are clear and there is no guessing. The NuGo Free bars are easily read with information that catches the eye of any allergy-free eater. Additionally, the bars are labeled with other health-related content that inspire me to read the other side of the package. Although not over-the-top in design, the packaging is informative and informative.
Cons: There is no dairy in this bar. The chocolate in the chocolate crunch bar is pure, dark chocolate. As a result, the bar has a very black look to it that I almost questioned when I pulled from the packet.
Taste
Pros: Although I might have wondered at the extremely black color, I found the taste to be quite wonderful. It was brown rice bar, mixed and topped with dark chocolate, not too sweet but enjoyable and rich.
Cons: No cons here!
Moisture/Texture
Pros: I was very pleased with the texture of this bar. I haven’t had a chance to review these products for a while now, but they retained great moisture, weren’t hard and were still bendy and delectable!
Cons: If you don’t like the taste of popped rice cereal, you might not like these bars.
What I Love
I love that when I turned over the bar and read the ingredients, I knew what everything was and could almost re-invent the bars myself! That is natural eating!
What I’d Improve
I would like to say that I would rather the bar look differently, but I’d rather a black candy/protein/snack bar than one with artificial coloring. 🙂
