“God gave you a gift of 86,400 seconds today. Have you used one to say thank you ”
― William Arthur Ward
We’ve all known a few people who only talk to us when they need something. Have a name in mind? As awful as that experience is, it is so tempting to be that kind of communicator with the Lord when it comes to prayer.

Too often, we forget the works of the Lord. Whether it is in our hearts or in the hearts of those around us, it is so easy to look at all the change/growth that has to take place and forget how much work God has done in the heart already. (For example, just think of the nation of Israel and the way they constantly forgot the works of God while in the desert.)
When was the last time you spent some serious time praising God for your husband? Do you commit as much time thanking God for the work He is doing in his life as you do whining about the ways he needs to change?
Gratitude needs to be expressed to the Lord in every aspect of our lives. When it is a quality which we possess and express, our perspective is such that reminds of us what we truly deserve, what we have graciously received from the Lord, and what we could be experiencing except for the consistent demonstration of His mercy.

*Here’s an Idea*
The next time you and your husband pray together, utilize your prayer time to thank God for your husband out loud and in front of your husband. What a verbal confirmation of your love for your husband and an act of faith that God is answering the prayers you’ve been praying for him!
