I’m Due to Help Fold Laundry.

So I have to say I am definitely one for unconventional breakfasts. Although I enjoy normal breakfast foods alot – after all, anything with eggs, meat, and cheese is amazing – I also like leftovers. For the instance, this morning, I had a mixture of rice, broccoli, and taco meat with cheese sprinkled on top.  It’s not a typical breakfast for sure, but you know what?  Status quo is boring.

I had another doctor’s appointment this morning, and he has officially labeled me the healthiest sick person in the world. lol… of course.  Quite unconventional.  I have now been tested for all sorts of maladies and everything except these ridiculous bile salts are checking out. (Oh, and aspartame too, which means no gum – rats!)  This definitely doesn’t make much sense to me, but neither does it add up for him either.  He has never heard of someone reacting to these salts, nor does he know what it means.

On much brighter news, last night Adam and I spent some focused time planning our honeymoon. 🙂 :)  That was super fun. :)  We are definitely staying in some nice places and planning some fun activities and site-seeing, but we are also camping and staying in a hostel for less than $40/night and enjoying a little adventure along the way.  It’s going to be a blast, and we decided to post a few photos on Facebook during the trip to let you all know where we are when, since we’ll actually we traveling between five states within a 14-day period. :)  86 days!!!

I’m also so excited about something else too!! I’m getting my cats!!  I moved out of my parents’ house back in November, and in the move, could not bring my cats.  The father of the family with which I live is allergic to cats plus they have an age-old beagle who would be quite put-out.  Now, Adam’s family is looking for a good mouser who likes to cuddle (an oxy-moron? I think so).  My cat Baby is a great mouser, but unless you’re me, she’s not a great cuddler.  Clarence, my brother Rob’s cat, on the other hand, is a lazy Garfield-like cat who loves to cuddle, eat, sleep, and not do much else.  So, I’m happy to say that I’ll be getting both cats, and the Bowman’s will have their mouser AND their cuddler. 🙂

Mmhmm…I can smell peanut butter balls being made in the other room…. Sigh… I have never been a sweets person, but going without sugar in any shape or form has given me an appreciation for desserts. lol… don’t get me wrong. I probably couldn’t eat a whole piece of cake. I just don’t have taste buds for that, but I love the smell and can definitely see why my man is addicted to ice cream and sweets the way he is.

For my New Testament class, I am summarizing Romans through Revelations. I think I’ve mentioned this before.  I’m working on Revelations (which means I’m almost done!!) and it’s been so neat to read through this book of the Bible again (it’s been years) and see how much detail is given to the future and the end of the world (as we know it… no pun intended – ok.  not true 🙂 ).  I am just amazed at the detailed plans the Lord, the Author of Creation and the Alpha and the Omega.  His mind is way beyond my wildest imaginations and His plans far exceed my understanding.

That thought kinda changes my perspective on my life, to be honest.  It is so often that I don’t understand things about my life, whether it be family conflicts or health issues or both.  However, in reading Revelations, I am reminded of Isaiah 55.

The whole chapter of Isaiah 55 speaks to the power and wisdom of the Lord, the sovereignty and complexity of His plans, and the intentions and heart of the actions He does/allows and plans He makes.  If you get a chance, take some time to read it: Isaiah 55 on Biblegateway.com.  Verses 8 and 9 below speak directly to the greatness of God and the feelings I have just been sharing:

For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.

How comforting!!  He is in control! :)  Sigh…  For me, that takes a load off my shoulders and puts joy back in my day to remember that, even when I am clueless as to what is going on, He is not only fully aware but full in control of everything.

It’s amazing how much can be on the human mind at the same time.  (I think this is almost a funny topic to talk about right after being reminded about God’s plans and sovereignty, but I’m not worried, just thoughtful.)  I work on school everyday, make random plans for wedding, contact people and set up meetings for a variety of wedding arrangements, have my random desktop HottNotes (stickynotes for PC’s… I’m not cool enough for a Mac yet…), keep track of all to-do’s in my cellphone calendar, even send myself emails and Facebook private messages to keep me on-track.  There’s a ceaseless selection of things to remember and guess what?  Add another person into this situation (Adam) and now I’m remembering a few things we need to discuss, a question I had, news to tell him, something he asked me to remember, a phone call he needs to make, etc.

Well, let’s just say I love busy days that fly by with a lot of accomplishments and those days when you just get on a roll of making lots of progress, or assignments that you thought would take two hours that only takes fifteen minutes.  Of course, who doesn’t, but it’s such a blessing, and I’m here to say “Praise the Lord” for them.

Today is a short post, I know; but school is calling (Sheesh… Revelations is a long book) and I have yet to read Milton and write a six-page paper today.

Tune in tomorrow for Food-Filled Friday!!

P.S.  I am wearing Emily’s socks right now because I decided today was not the day for bright-colored stripes, Christmas designed, mismatched pairs, or Crayola crayon socks. (By the way, thanks, Em. 🙂 ).  I guess it’s time I investigated the sock bag in the laundry and retrieved some of my mismatched pairs, or I could help Em fold the laundry tomorrow morning and help prevent the sock bag from filling up at all.  Hmmmmm….. I guess I’m due to help fold laundry.
