There’s something to be said for a mix that you totally screw up and it still turns out so delicious that you want to eat it all and not share it.
I can definitely say that about The Really Great Food Company’s coffee crumb cake mix. As a result, I’m avoiding making the banana bread mix for fear I’ll eat the whole thing and poor Adam will get none.

Appearance
Pros: I totally messed up this whole appearance area of the coffee cake. We had company over, it was a late night, and I was super-tired when I decided that instead of getting ready for bed, I’d make coffee cake. Smart, right? Well, I was super-happy that I did, because this coffee cake was awesome.
Cons: The finished product was wonderful, as it looked great, despite my lack of reading the directions! 🙂
Taste
Pros: I really loved this coffee cake. I’m not a big sweets/cake eater normally, but this was addicting! I wanted to eat it every morning for a pre-work breakfast, in the afternoon as a post-workout snack, and after dinner as dessert! 🙂 Tasty!
Cons: I wish I had more to make!
Moisture/Texture
Pros: I loved that this cake was moist but not greasy! I could eat a piece of coffee cake and continue my tasks without feeling like I just poured butter all over my hands! Part of me wants to blame/give credit to my failing to read directions, because I didn’t have the crumble on top — it was worked within the cake. However, whichever the cause, it’s amazingly moist and yet it holds together as a traditional cake would.
Cons: No cons here!
What I Love
The texture/moisture was the best part of this… that and the wonderful cinnamon flavor weaved throughout the cake! Mmmm…. *runs off to my cabinet to try to replicate this mix*
What I’d Improve
I think the main way I could improve this cake would be to make it healthier! I know, I know… it’s coffee cake, but I’d love to see it with a few more healthy ingredients.
